Weekly Forklift Training Updates: 10-Day RTITB Instructor Course Begins at 4KS
Another busy week at 4KS Forklift Training saw RTITB accredited training delivered across Birmingham, Peterborough and multiple onsite locations across the UK.
The week included Counterbalance, Reach Truck and PPT training, but the biggest highlight was the start of another 10-Day RTITB Accredited Forklift Instructor Course at our Birmingham training centre.
10-Day RTITB Instructor Course Begins
On Thursday, we welcomed a full cohort to our Birmingham centre for the latest 10-Day RTITB Accredited Forklift Instructor Course.
The intensive course provides candidates with the knowledge, practical skills and instructional techniques required to progress towards becoming qualified forklift instructors.
For 4KS, instructor training is particularly important because it goes beyond training individual operators. By developing new instructors, we’re helping build the next generation of professionals who will go on to train and assess forklift operators in workplaces across the UK.
Birmingham Training Centre
Alongside the Instructor Course, our Birmingham centre delivered a varied programme of RTITB accredited training.
This included:
- Counterbalance B1 Novice courses for candidates from the UK’s largest vehicle manufacturer
- Combined Counterbalance & Reach Truck Novice courses for private candidates
- Counterbalance Novice training
- Reach Truck back-to-back conversions from previous
- Combined courses
Counterbalance Refresher training - Weekend Counterbalance Novice courses
- Continued Reach Truck back-to-back conversion training, with candidates completing their third weekend
The combination of novice, refresher and conversion training demonstrates the different stages of operator development taking place at the centre each week.

Onsite Training Across the UK
Our onsite instructors were also busy supporting clients across several locations.
Training included:
- Liverpool: RTITB Counterbalance B1 training for candidates from the UK’s largest vehicle manufacturer
- Accrington: Five Counterbalance courses for a company, all RTITB accredited
- Leicester: PPT Novice training for our bakery client
The Accrington training was particularly notable for the volume of courses delivered for one client, while the Liverpool course continued our ongoing support for one of the UK’s largest vehicle manufacturers.

Peterborough Training Centre
Our Peterborough centre delivered another RTITB accredited Counterbalance Novice course for a company.
This continued a consistent programme of company training at the centre, helping employers develop qualified and competent forklift operators.

Weekly Highlight: Five candidates. Two truck categories. One onsite training programme.
Our onsite team spent the week in Accrington, delivering RTITB accredited Counterbalance and Reach Truck training to five candidates.
By combining both truck categories into the training programme, the client was able to develop a more versatile team without having to send their employees away from the workplace.
It’s a great example of how we can tailor onsite training around a client’s operational requirements while helping businesses build a multi-skilled workforce.
Flexible training. Multiple skills. One training partner.
